Worship with Dance

Largo

The Largo was choreographed by Tom Schiffer and named after the place where he created it. Some of our congregants have nicknamed it "The Fountain" because of the hand gestures.

The entire dance is done facing inward, not holding hands.

Each numbered step takes four beats of music.

  1. {hands cross in front of the body and continue circling out to each side: this takes all 4 counts} Brush R foot in front of left foot, sidestep R, step with L foot behind right foot, sidestep R
  2. {hands cross in front of the body and continue circling out to each side: this takes all 4 counts} Brush L foot in front of right foot, sidestep L, step with R foot behind left foot, sidestep L
  3. Mayim L (starting with R foot crossing in front of left foot)
  4. Tcherkessia
A variation we have seen for this dance is that some people bow during the second half of the Mayim (dancers are facing RLOD at the time).
