Worship with Dance

Nirkodita

Please let us know more about this dance! We've nicknamed it "Nirkodita" because it appears to be a simplified version of the Hora Nirkoda, designed for faster music. But we are not sure this guess is accurate history.

Each numbered step takes four beats of music.

  1. (facing inward) {hands at about head height, palm-to-palm with neighbors} Hop to the right with R foot, bring L foot together, hop to the right with R foot, bring L foot together
  2. Four-count turn over the right shoulder
  3. (facing inward) Lean R and snap with hands held up and to the right, pause, lean L and snap with hands held up and to the left, pause
  4. (facing inward) Stand in place and clap four times: the first clap is about knee height, then raise yourself so the fourth clap is at head height
